The Republic of Ireland have completed their preparations for Euro 2012 with a resolute 0-0 draw with Hungary in Budapest, but the most important result was that Trapattoni's squad does not seem to have suffered any injuries. It's certain to be an exciting tournament for Ireland in Poland and Ukraine.
90′ +3
Szabics picks out Nemeth with a scorcher of a cross-field pass and the striker takes it first time but Westwood saves down low. And that's full-time!
90′ +2
It is of paramount importance that tonight brings no injuries. Trapattoni will need his side to be at full strength to get through the group stages in the Euros.
90′ +1
Three minutes of additional time here in Budapest. Hungary are making a late charge for the victory.
90′
A poor delivery sees Hungary break down the right, which, thankfully for the Irish, breaks down. It's getting stretched now!
89′
Ireland have a corner at the death here.
87′
Substitution
Adám Gyurcsó
Tamas Koltai
87′
Hungary have certainly given a good account of themselves tonight, indeed, more than matching the Republic of Ireland on occasion. Trapattoni will need a better performance from his troops in the Euros.
85′
Substitution
Glenn Whelan
Paul Green
83′
Dzsudzsák whips in a delicious corner and Szabics fires it towards goal on the volley. Westwood does brilliantly to parry it to safety.
80′
Perhaps Szalai's inability in front of goal has spurred Ireland on this second half. The Hungarian's aren't getting a look in. Or maybe it's the interplay between Walters, Hunt and McGeady. Trapattoni will certainly have some thinking to do after tonight. Croatia will be an entirely different class of opposition.
78′
Substitution
Adam Szalai
Krisztian Nemeth
78′
McGeady breaks from a Hungary corner at pace with Simon cox in support. The winger picks out the West Brom man in miles of space down the right, bursting into the penalty area, but Bogdan gets down well to save the striker's shot. Immediately afterwards, Jon Walters fluffs a free header in the middle of the box, which sails wide. Ireland should now be winning! Great game.
76′
Hungary are starting to tire here in Budapest, where, earlier the front four were chasing down every and any loose ball, but now they seem resigned to chasing shadows.
74′
And it eventually comes out to Darren Gibson, who is usually so composed at striking the ball from distance but this one goes way over. He'll be disappointed with that - he's scored with more unlikely attempts.
73′
McGeady has won a corner down the left after some more sweet footwork.
71′
Trapattoni would certainly value a clean sheet tonight, particularly after the chances Szalai has missed. Ireland are the ascendant team right now though - they'll be going for it.
70′
Substitution
Péter Halmosi
Tamas Kadar
68′
It's a great run down the right, but that has to be the worst attempt at a shot I have EVER seen. The Hungarian cuts inside Stephen Ward and unleashes a 40 yard shot (40 yards into the sky, directly upwards). I didn't even know it was possible to loft it THAT much.
66′
Substitution
Keith Andrews
Darron Gibson
The combinations between McGeady, Hunt and Walters are giving Ireland the upper hand at the moment as the Hungarians cannot get out of their half. Darren Gibson is on now, too.

66′
Substitution
Peter Szakaly
Imre Szabics
64′
And the introduction of Jon Walters certainly seems to be paying dividends, as a corner finds its way towards the Irishman, whose low, angled shot flies a yard wide of the far post. Bogdan would have struggled with that one, especially as it was hit through about eight or nine bodies.
63′
Substitution
Damien Duff
Stephen Hunt
Stephen Hunt is coming on for Damien Duff as Ireland look to be bringing back some form of control.

62′
And out of absolutely nowhere, Jon Walters latches onto a through ball and fires it across Bogdan first time, with the goalkeeper doing very well to parry clear, or so he thinks, as McGeady attempts a follow-up, but gets it woefully wrong and it's out for a goal kick.
61′
Substitution
Robbie Keane
Simon Cox
Robbie Keane's night is done and Trap will be happy that his captain has come out of tonight scott-free. Simon Cox his replacement.

58′
Dzsudzsák takes it and much to the aggravation of Hungary boss Sándor Egervári, it flies against the wall and Ireland clear the danger.
57′
Yellow Card Stephen Ward
Stephen Ward is booked for a cynical foul on the right back Gyurcsó. Decent free kick opportunity here...

56′
And from the resulting Duff deliverly, Robbie Keane nearly finds the back of the net. He's looking for a slight angled header at the far post but cannot quite make the right connection. Bogdan was stranded.
55′
McGeady fires a shot in at the other end, which takes a massive deflection and loops wide for a corner. Ireland need a break right now and they'll take their time with this.
53′
Szalai could well have had a hat-trick by now. Halmosi finds space down the Hungary left and whips in a deliciously low cross to the feet of the striker, whose snapshot is blocked by St. Ledger. A more difficult chance this one but a good one nonetheless.
50′
And as with many professional football matches, the fashion of the closing minutes of the first half is being reciprocated in the early minutes of the second. Hungary having lots of threatening possession.
48′
The referee has seemingly robbed Ireland of a shooting opportunity here, as Jon Walters was sent through down the right but was adjudged to be offside. Replays show that the Stoke striker was, in fact, in a perfectly legal position.
46′
Substitution
Kevin Doyle
Jonathan Walters
46′
Substitution
Shay Given
Keiren Westwood
Ireland have reshuffled the pack, keeping things fresh and more importantly, taking off some big names with injuries in mind. Shay Given has come off for Kieran Westwood, Doyle off for Walters.

Ireland get us back underway against Hungary in Budapest.
Half-time here in Budapest as Hungary should really lead through Szalai. Trap will need to rally the troops in the dressing room.
44′
Oh dear, Szalai. He should score, AGAIN. The striker was sent through into the six-yard box and jinked back across Richard Dunne, who was left for dead. All he had to do was shoot and surely Given was beaten, but unfortunately the Hungarian conspired to delay just long enough for Dunne to claw the ball back from the brink and it's cleared. Szalai hit out afterwards as well.
42′
Yellow Card Zsolt Korcsmar
Korcsmar held Kevin Doyle back there as the Irishman was let loose on the break down the left. Yellow card dished out.
Korcsmar held Kevin Doyle back there as the Irishman was let loose on the break down the left. Yellow card dished out.
41′
And now the hosts are playing in intricate little triangles, not too dissimilar to Arsenal's philosophy. It's thrilling to watch, but not to defend against - I would imagine.
40′
Hungary have eased themselves into this match and are certainly now the dominant force. You remember when I said Ireland were winning the midfield battle? Clearly I have no idea - not anymore!
36′
Hungary should score. St. Ledger slips at the crucial moment as Szalai controls a cross in the middle of the six-yard box. The big striker didn't realise how much time he had as he turned and shot in one movement, scuffing it and dribbling a slow shot into Given's waiting arms. That should have been a goal and Trap's men should be one down.
35′
And the Irishman's shot doesn't trouble the keeper there; flies over the bar. Shame that, seeing as Trap's men needed a break.
34′
Glen Whelan is lining it up from the right side of the area.
33′
Robbie Keane was clipped outside the Hungarian area. GREAT free-kick chance now.
30′
But Hungary continue to turn the screw and Ireland have Keith Andrews to thank for cutting out the latest cross. Corner.
27′
The host's captain Dzsudzsák looks a player. Continually beating O'Shea down the right and looping in dangerous ball upon dangerous ball. On top of that McGeady is now starting to struggle. Ireland need a spell of possession here.
24′
Hungary are really starting to warm up here in Budapest as Dzsudzsák lets loose from 25 yards out, forcing Given into a diving low save to his left. You'd expect Shay Given to deal with that but the Ireland defence has been pulled apart over the last couple of minutes. Trapattoni will certainly be disappointed.
22′
Glen Whelan is pulling the strings here as he tries to set McGeady free but the Hungary right-back, Varga, is matching the Irishman step for step and gets to the ball first to boot it out for a throw.
20′
Well it's been a lively first 20 minutes with both sides enjoying spells of possession, as Hungary have another penalty shout - involving Dunne again. Denied.
18′
Stephen Ward gallops down the left, again leaving his man for dead, but the attack is killed and the Hungarian's counter quickly, forcing a smart save from Shay Given between the sticks. Close, that!
16′
McGeady's movement is great tonight as the Irishman picks out a cross from the sky and runs towards the penalty area, tripping over the legs of a Hungarian defender. He's looking for a free kick but again, nothing doing.
14′
Wow, some tackle this. Szakály is sent clean through down the right and Richard Dunne is steamrolling towards the Hungarian to block out the threat, which he does with a superbly timed sliding tackle and BOY did he slide - it's wet out there.
13′
Robbie Keane is incensed with himself. The LA Galaxy man only has to take the slightest of touches from a Glen Whelan pass and he is through on goal - but unfortunately he cannot get it under control and the chance disappears as quickly as it came.
11′
And now it must be said, the Republic of Ireland are winning the midfield battle - both in terms of tackles and possession football. Trap's men are pinging it about nicely.
9′
And suddenly we're having chances galore as Szalai and Richard Dunne collide in the Ireland box as a dangerous ball is looped in. There were penalty shouts as the Hungarian clattered to the ground but nothing doing. Given has to be alive to scramble clear.
8′
And it nearly comes to something! Damien Duff is picked out from the free-kick down by the right touchline and the Fulham player darts onto his left foot before whipping in a cross which is headed onto the roof of the net. Close!
7′
Doyle has won a free kick in a decent position here - 40 yards out on the right...
5′
And now Aiden McGeady is giving the Republic a lot more control now as the nifty winger's footwork fools a couple of Hungarian defenders before delivering a dangerous cross in. Nothing comes of it but watch out for the Ireland number seven.
4′
Ireland's first stint of possession sees Stephen Ward rocket down the left and float a high cross into the 6-yard area but Bogdan was alive to that.
3′
Ireland haven't been able to get any kind of possession yet as the Hungarians (in a dark red strip) are bossing the midfield right now. The surface isn't helping either - I'm sure we'll see an injury or two today.
1′
The Hungarian's get us underway.
Dzsudzsák and Keane have just shared a wet handshake - let's have a good game boys!
About to kick-off here. I've said that a few times already! This will be the first time these teams have met in 20 years!
Atrocious conditions in Budapest as the national anthems ring out. This will be a very important match for Giovanni Trapattoni to iron out any remaining creases ahead of the big Euro 2012 Championships, starting next week didn't ya know!
Well finally the teams are walking out of the tunnel after the officials were seemingly deciding whether or not to call the match off - but it certainly looks as though we are going to get a game.
The Irish are unbeaten in 15 matches away from home, keeping a clean sheet in their last five, would you adam-and-eve-it.
While we're waiting I'll give you some more stats: Tamas Priskin has scored three goals in Hungary’s last three matches - but he's not playing tonight. Sorry!
Due to the intense THUNDER AND LIGHTNING (I'm not kidding) here in Budapest, the start of the game has been delayed by some 10 minutes or so. The teams should be emerging from the tunnel any minute now.
The crowd is enormously sparse in a wet and windy Ferenc Puskás-Stadion but that's not stopping a group of enigmatic Hungary supporters from getting their voices heard. You go girls.
We're only moments away from kick-off now here in Hungary and it's worth noting that Ireland have beaten the home side on both of the last two meetings, though they are the only two victories Ireland have against their hosts.

Giovanni Trapattoni's men are unbeaten in 13 matches, a streak that has seen them concede only three goals. Hungary are also on a rich run of form, losing only one of their last nine matches. With this being the Republic's last game before the upcoming Euro 2012 Championship's in Poland and Ukraine, Trapattoni will be keen to instil some confidence going into the tournament.
