    Wojciech Szczesny

Fine early stop to deny a long-range Kroos strike but was sent-off in the 37th minute after conceding a penalty with a reckless challenge on Robben. Stupid.

  • Bacary Sagna

    Bacary Sagna

Strong on the whole against Robben and Gotze but struggled at times when Alaba bombed forward on the overlap. Rarely got forward.

  • Per Mertesacker

    Per Mertesacker

The German organised the Arsenal defence and made some important interventions, not least a fine block to deny Robben in the first half. Completely taken out of the game by ghost run across the box for the second goal.

  • Laurent Koscielny

    Laurent Koscielny

Some very classy defending from the Frenchman but did find it difficult to handle Bayern's running from deep in the second half. Also lucky not to concede a penalty for bringing down Muller.

  • Kieran Gibbs

    Kieran Gibbs

Excellent up against Gotze in the early stages but forced off through injury in the 31st minute.

  • Jack Wilshere

    Jack Wilshere

Pressed Bayern with superb energy for much of the game but understandably tired in the second half. Precise passing, especially when Arsenal were on top early on.

  • Mesut Özil

Mesut Özil Flop of the Match

Won the early penalty after ducking inside Boateng but let his side down with a terrible spot-kick straight at Neuer. Some sloppy passing and looked very heavy-legged when he tried to track back.

  • Santi Cazorla

    0
    2.50

    Santi Cazorla

Worked hard and forced Neuer into a sharp save before being replaced by Fabianski following the red card shown to Szczesny. Unfortunate.

  • Mathieu Flamini

    Mathieu Flamini

Set the tempo in central midfield as he snapped into tackles, especially before the red card.

  • Yaya Sanogo

    3.00

    Yaya Sanogo

Justified his surprise inclusion ahead of Olivier Giroud and made a real nuisance of himself as the spearhead of the Arsenal attack. Linked up well with Oxlade-Chamberlain and almost scored with a fine low shot that was kept out by Neuer. Hard work for him in the second half.

  • Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal's dangerman on the counterattack in the first half as he looked to get in behind Alaba. Never overawed by the occasion and full of pace and trickery. Perhaps could have worked harder to track Alaba.

    Lukasz Fabianski

Sharp off his line and made some decent saves after coming on following the red card shown to Szczesny.

    Monreal

The Spaniard struggled with Bayern's movement and runs down his side after replacing Gibbs in the first half.

  • Tomas Rosicky

    Tomas Rosicky

Little impact after replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 74th minute.

  • Manuel Neuer

    3.50

    Manuel Neuer

Usually a spectator but kept Bayern in the match in the early stages. Read Ozil like a book to keep out the penalty and made superb saves to deny Sanogo and Cazorla, too.

  • Dante

    2.50

    Dante

Struggled against Sanogo's power early on but quickly got to grips with the Arsenal striker.

  • Jerome Boateng

    1.50

    Jerome Boateng

Clumsy challenge on Ozil to concede the penalty and played with fire by conceding more sloppy fouls. Replaced by Rafinha at half-time - a clever move by Guardiola.

  • Philipp Lahm

    4.00

    Philipp Lahm

Constantly bombed forward from right-back in the first half, before dictating the game from the base of midfield in the second half. A fine display capped off with the cross for Muller's late second.

  • David Alaba
    1
    0
    2.00

    David Alaba

Always a threat as he constantly overlapped to join the attack. No excuses, though, for his poor penalty as he sent Fabianski the wrong way but missed the target.

  • Thiago Alcántara

    Thiago Alcántara

Lovely tidy passing exchanges to link up attacks as Bayern dominated the ball.

  • Javi Martínez

    Javi Martínez

Mopped up in midfield in the first half with intelligent positioning and accurate short passing. Dropped to centre-back in the second half and had nothing to do.

  • Arjen Robben

    Arjen Robben

Booed by the Arsenal supporters - but in truth the Dutchman did very well to win a blatant penalty. Desperate to score in the second half as he continually cut in from the right and shot towards goal.

  • Toni Kroos

Toni Kroos Top of the Match

Produced moments of class to light up the game, not least his stunning curler into the top corner in the 54th minute. Tested Szczesny from 30 yards early on and produced a brilliant scooped pass to Robben for the Bayern penalty. Hit the post as he looked to add another late on.

  • Mario Götze

    Mario Götze

Busy display and played across the whole pitch but sometimes lacked precision in the final third.

  • Mario Mandzukic

    Mario Mandzukic

Led the line for the visitors before being replaced by Muller in the 64th minute. Won a few headers but unable to really get away from Arsenal defenders.

Substitutions

  • Rafinha

    Rafinha

Full of running as he played almost as a winger in the second half.

Came on for Thiago 11 minutes from time.

  • Thomas Müller

    Thomas Müller

Replaced Mandzukic in the 64th minute and completed the victory with a fine header. Could also have won a penalty after being brought down by Koscielny.
