    N. Valladares

The keeper made some solid saves throughout the game. He showed good judgement when coming off of his line to thwart Bernard, but he couldn't stop the Shakhtar man opening the scoring shortly before.

  • E. Izaguirre

    E. Izaguirre

Pushed up regularly from left-back and looked confident in possession. He allowed Paulinho to get in behind him to supply the opener, though, and he fired a great chance over the bar early in the second half.

  • Maynor Figueroa

    2.00

    Maynor Figueroa

Made some rash challenges throughout the game and struggled to cope with the movement of the Brazilian forwards. He failed to make the most of a free kick opportunity on half time, firing well over the top.

  • V. Bernárdez

    V. Bernárdez

A needlessly aggressive performance from the centre-back as he showed far more brawn than footballing ability throughout the game. He made a number of stupid tackles and was withdrawn after being booked.

  • A. Peralta

    A. Peralta Flop of the Match

Left Bernard in far too much space on the opening goal and did so again soon after but was bailed out by his goalkeeper. He was another player to make far too many overzealous challenges as the opponents continually bested him.

  • B. García

    2
    2.50

    B. García

Struggled to have much influence on the game from midfield and grew rather frustrated by his lack of impact on proceedings. He had one decent shot which forced a save from Victor, but offered very little else.

  • J. Claros

    2.50

    J. Claros

Was completely overrun in midfield for most of the game, but he had a few bright moments on the counterattack in the early exchanges. He could not maintain that level of energy though, and he struggled to get close to the ball.

  • R. Espinoza

    2
    2.00

    R. Espinoza

The wide midfielder tracked back to help protect against Maicon for much of the first half. He was sloppy in possession and was withdrawn early in the second half

  • W. Palacios

    3
    2.00

    W. Palacios

Was very combative in the midfield but at times took things a bit too far. He was efficient in possession but offered minimal drive from the middle for his team.

  • C. Costly

    C. Costly

The striker barely had any involvement in the game, bar a couple of nice skills on the near side which led to nothing in the first half. His movement was practically non-existent and the centre-backs dealt with him capably.

  • J. Bengtson

    3.00

    J. Bengtson

Had one effort on goal early on but failed to divert his header on target. He attempted to drop deep and pick up the ball but failed to find much space up against Dante and David Luiz.

  • Dante

    3.50

    Dante

Played a very simple game at the back, passing the ball along at the back without taking any risks. He ensured to fill any gaps left when David Luiz stepped up yet he still managed to get on the scoresheet with a second-half header.

  • David Luiz

    1
    3.50

    Maicon

A lively performance from the right-back as he pushed up regularly. He was tracked closely by Espinoza, but he continued to press on and earned himself a rare goal in the second half.

  • Maxwell

    Maxwell

Continued to stake his claim as Marcelo's understudy with another quality performance. He defended brilliantly and showed plenty of guile when pushing forward to offer support.

    4.00

    Bernard

The Shakhtar man was extremely impressive, putting in an explosive and energetic performance. He regularly ghosted into dangerous areas and caused the opposing defence a number of problems. He swept home a cool opening goal, too.

  • Luiz Gustavo

    3.50

    Luiz Gustavo

Broke apart the play well when Honduras attempted to move the ball through the middle of the park. He was very industrious, regularly dropping in at the back when David Luiz moved forward and helping out with some tough challenges.

  • Oscar
    14
    4
    3.00

    Oscar

A tenacious performance from the Chelsea man as he chased down the ball very high up the pitch, forcing Honduras to play it quickly. His passing was not spectacular but it remained effective.

  • Paulinho

    4.50

    Paulinho Top of the Match

A typically dynamic display in midfield from Paulinho. He regularly looked to launch Brazil forward from deep and he pulled a good save from Valladares early on. His great run and cross was swept home by Bernard midway through the first half.

  • Jô
