Malayan Tigers kicked off their Australian Tour with a surprising defeat to Canberra All Stars.
Labelled as the underdogs, the home side did not show any signs of fear or intimidation facing Rajagopal's charges and strolled to a two goal lead in the first half through Alex Oloriegbe and Ryan Kerr.
Rajagopal responded by bringing in in-form PKNS FC playmaker, Nazmi Faiz who provided the much needed creative spark from the midfield.
Nazmi expertly carved Canberra's defence open for Safee Sali to score in the 61st minute. The much criticised Darul Takzim striker later on looked to have secured a draw for the Malayan Tigers as he scored in the 83rd minute.
However, substitute Philippe Bernabo sealed a memorable win for the part timers with a last minute penalty kick after he adjudged to have been fouled by Farizal Marlias.
Malaysia will play against Marconi Stallions FC (June 11) and Sydney United FC (June 13).
