    Khairul Fahmi Che Mat

Punched away a direct free-kick from Saleh in the opening period of the first half but caught out of position with the shot from Abdulla Ahmed. Wasn’t called upon much today and he will be disappointed with the manner in which he conceded the goal .

  • Asraruddin Putra Omar

    Asraruddin Putra Omar

Largely untroubled by his opponent but had a horrendous night in terms of his passing, whether by the lack of options in front of him or down to his own error.

  • Aidil Zafuan Radzak

    Aidil Zafuan Radzak

Another full-blooded affair from the JDT centre-back. In fairness, Aidil had a good night out alongside Taj. Kept Sami and Tayeb under wraps throughout the game.

  • Amirizwan Taj bin Tajudin

Amirizwan Taj bin Tajudin Top of the Match

Produced a good block inside the box after Sami Mohamed managed to turn away from him. His height ensured that he won most of his headers. It was a decent performance from the ATM man.

  • K. Reuben

    K. Reuben

Compared to his previous outings, this was probably Reuben’s best performance in a Malaysian senior shirt. Reuben was much calmer and selected his tackles well. Could improve on his passing though.

  • Subramaniam Kunanlan

Subramaniam Kunanlan Flop of the Match

Like normal, Kunanlan displayed plenty of hard running and speed but like usual, he lacked the final product when deciding to deliver crosses or a pass.

  • Safiq Rahim

    Safiq Rahim

The captain failed to shrug off the tight marking of Abdulwahab but grew into the game after the said Bahrain defensive midfielder had to move into defence.

  • Amri Yahyah

    Amri Yahyah

Surprisingly, won a lot of headers against the supposedly bigger side in Bahrain. Linked up well on occasions with Norshahrul but seldom received support from his midfielders.

  • K. Gurusamy

    K. Gurusamy

Another one from the home side who had a night to forget in terms of passing. Did his defensive duties well but provided little help to the forward line.

  • Azamuddin Akil

    Azamuddin Akil

Failed to produce the scintillating form that he has shown for Pahang. Constantly lost possession of the ball when he goes on a dribble. Had to be more defensive today due to Waleed’s forward runs.

  • Norshahrul Idlan Talaha

    Norshahrul Idlan Talaha

Struggled playing upfront alone but did produce a moment of magic. A superb curler that earned Malaysia the equalising goal, the JDT striker will be glad to be in the news for better reasons.

    Said Ahmad Jaffer

Like his opposite number, was largely untroubled. Sayed could do little to prevent Norshahrul from scoring, such was the beauty of the shot. Quick to claim high balls and that always helps defenders.

  • Abdulla Al Hazaa

    Abdulla Al Hazaa

Was never going to be in for too much work considering the formation that Malaysia started with. Came off injured midway through the second half.

  • Saleh Abdulhameed

    Saleh Abdulhameed

Worked well in combination with Abdulla Khaled but struggled late on when his centre-back partner went off injured.

  • Waleed Al Hayam

    Waleed Al Hayam

Waleed was Bahrain’s extra outlet with some good forward runs in the first half. Stayed back more in the second half as Malaysia started to gain more possession. Did well against Azamuddin.

  • Sayed Dhiya

    2.50

    Sayed Dhiya

The winger played on either side of the flank in each of the halves. Not many penetrative runs from him but didn’t lose too many possession either.

  • Abdulwahab Ali
    2

    3.00

    Abdulwahab Ali

The left footer showed decent touches on the ball and was popping up left, right and centre during Bahrain’s attacks. His movement off the ball was very good.

  • Sayed Mohamed Adnan

    3.00

    Sayed Mohamed Adnan

The diminutive central midfielder had a tidy game in the middle of the pitch for Bahrain. Always aware of where his teammates are, Sayed kept his game simple.

  • Salman Isa

    2.50

    Salman Isa

Well-marshalled by Aidil who push forward to get near to Isa when the situation called for it. Didn’t get on the ball enough to influence the game.

  • Mohammed Al Alawi

    Mohammed Al Alawi

Like the player he replaced, Tayeb found that Malaysian defence to hard to crack. Offered very little to Bahrain’s attack.

Substitutions

  • Fahad Al Hardan

    Fahad Al Hardan

The left-footer showed decent touches on the ball and was popping up left, right and centre during Bahrain’s attacks. His movement off the ball was very good.
