Selangor will be hosting Pahang in what will be an intriguing Malaysian Super League encounter at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday.

The Red Giants have had a decent start to the season so far, winning two games and losing one, but they will have to be in full force to stand any chance of toppling current league leaders Pahang.

Dollah Salleh's men have been a revelation so far, exceeding every single expectation that was association with them prior to the season kick off. They have showcased plenty of fluidity in their play and the determination to push forward, which has led them to three victories in their first three matches.

Fauzi Roslan has impressed a lot upfront, while Amirulhadi Zainal, who plied his trade with Selangor before this year, seems to have found a new lease of life in centre midfield. The new role has added a facet into Pahang's offensive front, which could be vital for them on Saturday.

As for Irfan Bakti and his troops, they will be looking to continue building momentum after their 2-1 win over Terengganu last Tuesday.

S. Kunanlan has been the key man so far and will certainly start on the left flank again. K. Gurusamy will be dictating the midfield alongside Shukor Jusoh, while Francis Forkey Doe and Amri Yahya will ba tasked with rattling the Pahang defence.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8.45 p.m.

  • Dollah Salleh, who is Pahang's current head coach, has previously been in charge of the Red Giants
  • Amirulhadi Zainal was often criticised for his lackluster performances for Selangor last year, but seems to have regained his form in a new role with Pahang in 2013
