Zoo FC striker Nicholas Kipkirui attributes Harambee Stars call up to coach Sammy Okoth

Zoo FC striker Nicholas Kipkirui has hailed coach Sammy Okoth for his newfound stature in his second season with the Kericho-based side.

Kipkirui, who has contributed nine of Zoo 22 goals this season, same as the reigning Kenyan Premier League Player of the Year Michael Madoya, attributed his new found form to Okoth, who was awarded the coach of the Month gong on Tuesday.

Kipkirui spoke highly of Okoth with whom he attributed his national team call-up to great guidance from the tactician.

"The coach has been a great leader and mentor to the team and me in particular.

"The skills and confidence that has seen me perform well and earn national team call-up were all imparted by the coach. I'm glad to have him with me and hope we can achieve a lot more together.”

Kipkirui and Madoya’s combined 18 goals leaves Zoo FC on 15th place with 16 points.
