Cristiano Ronaldo has questioned the new hairstyle of Real Madrid team-mate James Rodriguez, branding it “ugly”.
The Portuguese superstar has seen his own style choices make headlines of late, with the decision taken to shave his head after a two-goal showing in the Champions League final.
International colleague Jose Fonte recently revealed that Ronaldo has been getting “stick” at the Confederations Cup, with Ricardo Quaresma the chief joker in the Portugal camp.
Ronaldo has, however, attempted to shift the focus away from himself and onto Colombian playmaker James, who has been sporting some fetching blonde highlights.
Ronaldo was quick to post in the comment section on Instagram: “Cabelo feio (ugly hair)”.
Unsurprisingly, his reaction sparked plenty of debate, with many followers of James taking the opportunity to point out that Ronaldo may be in no position to discuss hairstyles at present.
A number of others took to social media calling on James to make a move to their favoured club during the summer transfer window, as exit talk mounts around him in the Spanish capital.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a big-money move, while ambitious Serie A outfit Milan have also been credited with holding an interest.
