Harambee Stars coach Sebestien Migne tips France to beat Croatia in final

Harambee Stars coach Sebestien Migne has tipped France to beat Croatia in the Sunday’s Fifa World Cup final.

France will step to the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow to battle for the title against Croatia and the French tactician is upbeat that compatriot Didier Deschamps will lift the trophy for the second time, both as a player and a coach with the Les Bleus.

Deschamps captained France as they won the 1998 World Cup final on home soil in Paris. “It is important that we seal off this competition,” Migne told a local TV station.

The man, who is also preparing for a crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana in September with Harambee Stars, says that France should capitalize on the additional rest day to down Croatia.

“Croatia played three games of the extra time. We have a day more to recover. Fortunately, we have no injuries and I think everybody will be ready to play this final.

“I hope we’ll be world champions and when you are world champions it’s for four years and I think it will be good for French coach.”

France fell some big wigs on their march to the final; among them a 4-2 thumping over Lionel Messi's Argentina in the last 16.

The Les Bleus, who lifted their maiden global trophy in 1998, then knocked out Uruguay and Belgium in the quarter and semi-finals respectively to book a berth with Croatia.

Croatia, on the other hand, confirmed their domineering status with a victory over England in the semi-final having surprised the world with a 3-0 victory over Argentina in the second Group D match.

Luka Modric inspired Croatia got off to a winning start for the first time at a World Cup since 1998 with a victory of Nigeria before downing a much-fancied Argentina 3-0 in the subsequent match.

Croatian needed a penalty shootout against Denmark after completing the Group D action with another victory against Iceland, to progress to the last 16.
