Gor Mahia turns to authorities for protection from unscrupulous businessmen

Gor Mahia have reported to authorities the unscrupulous businessmen dealing in the sale of club's merchandise.

K’Ogalo are finding it hard to beat competition from middlemen, who have invaded the market with fake replica jerseys, even as the club drags its foot on making available the same jerseys, as fans run out of patience.

Gor Mahia inked a three year deal with a Italian Sports apparel, but almost four months down the line, the club is yet to receive the replica jerseys, leaving fans with very little options but to turn to fake goods.

“The replicas are already within the Kenyan Airspace and the club is making all necessary arrangements to have them hit the market. I want to assure all those, who have made payments that you will have your jerseys,” Gor Mahia Secretary General Ben Omondi said in a statement obtained by Goal.

“Let me caution unscrupulous vendors, who are already selling fake jerseys to stop. We have already reported the issue to the authorities.”

This comes as K’Ogalo prepares to take on Rayon Sports in a Caf Confederation Cup match on Sunday. A ticket for the 7pm kick-off tie will retail at Sh500 for VIP section and Sh200 for the terraces.

Matchday tickets will be sold at the venue - Kasarani Stadium.
