Gor Mahia now name price tag for the much sought Francis Kahata

Gor Mahia have now slapped a price tag of Sh150million for any team that is interested in the services of Francis Kahata.

Goal now understands that two more clubs from South Africa have entered the race to sign the former Thika United midfielder before the June transfer window shuts on Monday midnight.

Already Tanzanian giants Simba SC have tabled a bid of Sh9.8million to sign the player, who has been impressive for the Kenyan champions this season. This is the second time Simba are returning with an improved offer after they signed another Gor Mahia player Meddie Kagere on a two-year contract.

A top K’Ogalo official has now told Goal that they can only negotiate with a club that is ready to part with Sh150million as sign on fee. “We are ready to allow Kahata move because as a club policy we don’t stand in a players’ way when he wants to move for greener pastures.

“However, let it be known that we can only negotiate with a team that is ready to pay Sh150m.

“We don’t want to be seen that we are blocking Kahata from making a move. Let those teams that are interested for his services follow the laid down procedures in regards to transfers and come with the above amount. We will then talk but as it stands now, Kahata remains a Gor Mahia player.

“He has a one and year contract with the club and must be committed to see it out.”

Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars of South Africa are among the latest clubs to have shown keen interest to sign the player.
