Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr says sorry to fans after losing to Thika United

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr is remorseful following the team’s defeat to Thika United on Saturday.

The defending champions suffered their second loss in the Kenyan Premier League and third defeat in a row in all competitions. Kerr has also pointed out the frailties that led to the team's defeat against the milkmen.

“We planned all week to practice at Parklands to work on different formations but to get the game plan right and I was not allowed to do that and it hurts me not only as a professional but also as football fan that hates to lose,” Kerr told Goal in an interview.

“We tried, but we looked sluggish no energy, no spirit and did not listen to tactics especially as I put Joachim (Oluoch) as a striker and an attacking formation to play in their half. I cannot use our players not training or the field as an excuse because once you put the jersey on your responsible to give everything.

“Today (Sunday), we did not play to my standards and I apologize to the many fans that came for the match and congratulate Thika United, who scrapped ran and wanted to win knowing how my players have not trained and they took advantage.”

K’Ogalo have already bagged their seventeenth league crown.
