Eugine Asike move to Kabwe Warriors hits a snag

Eugine Asike's move to Kabwe Warriors has stalled, Goal understands.

Thus, the 25-year old is now reported to be exploring other options in Zambia, with Tanzanian outfit Singida United among the clubs chasing his signature.

The central defender has been training with Kabwe for the past fortnight since rejecting the opportunity to extend his stay at Kenyan Premier League side Tusker.

"He rejected the opening offer from Kabwe," a source close to the negotiations exclusively told Goal.

"So at this point in time, it is about the club coming in with a better offer. But the scenario has changed because there are a number of clubs in and outside Zambia that are interested in signing him. So it will get down to the best offer on the table."

With the mid-season, Kenya transfer window already closed, Asike, who has 24 caps for the Kenya national team, has until July 24 to complete a move to the Tanzanian league, or July 30 to transfer to Zambia.
