Jerome Boateng has admitted he considered a Bayern exit this summer but is pleased with the return of Jupp Heynckes to the Bundesliga champions.
The 29-year-old defender struggled with injuries in 2016-17, playing just 13 Bundesliga contests, starting 10.
However, Boateng believes he could have featured in a few more important contests, but may have suffered as a result of Carlo Ancelotti losing faith in him due to his time spent on the sidelines.
And the whole situation left Boateng frustrated enough he admitted he considered a summer departure.

"Maybe because I played not that much with him as coach, he saw me as less because of my injuries," Boateng told Kicker.
“I had a conversation with the leaders about how they see me in the summer, I said I was thinking about it (a transfer)."
Boateng was not alone in his frustration over Ancelotti as the manager seemed to run afoul of Thomas Muller and other veterans during his stint with Bayern.
The Italian was subsequently fired after a slow start to the 2017-18, with Heynckes returning for another stint as Bayern boss.
And Boateng is pleased about his old manager’s return, believing he is the right man to restore balance to the champions.
“(Heynckes’) attitude that he wants to give something back to FC Bayern is very positive for us as a team. There are not many managers who have such a keen sense of how to deal with players, their approach, their training, their motivation."
Boateng and Bayern won 5-0 in Heynckes’ Bundesliga return and now are just two points off the pace set by current league leaders Borussia Dortmund.
