Fulham-Chelsea Betting Preview: Demba Ba to silence the hosts at the Craven Cottage

Raphael Benitez's men continue their chase for a top four finish with a short trip to Fulham in a London derby

After bowing out of the English FA Cup over the weekend to Manchester City, it’s now win or bust for Chelsea in a quest to play in next season’s Uefa Champions League. With Tottenham breath down their necks as they trail Arsenal on the log, the Blues are condemned to pick the maximum points away from home.

Although the Roman Army’s away form in recent times has been not so good - losing six out of their ten - that has prevented Ladbrokes from tipping them as favorites. This online bookmaker believes Chelsea will come away with all three points at 5/6 (1.83).

For Martin Jol’s men who are currently sitting on the tenth position will be hoping to finish as high up as possible on the Premier League log. Despite having the luxury of playing before their home fans, they are 10/3 (4.33) underdogs to win this one.

The Cottagers boast of four draws in four previous outings with the Blues. In view of this, Ladbrokes offers 12/5 (3.4) for a draw.

The host will be without the services of Damien Duff and Steve Sidwell who are out to suspension and injury respectively; they will be on former United man, Dimitar Berbatov and Ruiz to shoot down Benitez men who have lost their last three away games. Should the visitors lose, their hopes for a top four finish might just gradually fade off.

For the goal poachers, Demba Ba is favorites at 9/2 (5.5) to find the back of the net first and 6/5 (2.2) to score at anytime while Eden Hazard is at long odds of 66/1 (67.00) to get a hatrick. Berbatov is a 6/1 (7.00) same as Juan Mata to get the curtain raiser.

Nevertheless, expect this match to be a little less frenetic than others, and the price of 4/5 (1.8) for Chelsea to win for over 1.5 goals looks tempting.
