Online gaming company BragBet has signed a two and a half year deal to become the official betting partner of the Danske Bank Premiership, Northern Ireland’s top soccer league.

The deal follows a previously announced agreement between the company, which launched in April of this year, and the Football Association of Ireland, the national governing body of soccer in the Republic of Ireland.

BragBet, which is backed by telecoms giant Telefonica, claims to be ‘the world’s first team betting service allowing groups of mates the opportunity to form a team and bet together against the bookmaker as a syndicate.’ Financial terms of its latest deal were not released.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with the NI Football League on the back of our decision to move our head offices from Dublin to Belfast,” said Phil Riordan, the chief executive of BragBet.

“Football fans in Northern Ireland have a fantastic reputation for passion and loyalty to their clubs and we are excited about offering our team betting platform to those fans.”

Graeme Beggs, the marketing and communication manager of the Northern Ireland Football League, said the league had “looked at a number of potential partners, but no business shared our vision of a combined social media and football product quite like BragBet.”
