German 1.Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Nurnberg have enhanced existing sponsorship agreements with DFV and Grundig.

Insurance firm DFV has partnered Eintracht since 2010, but has signed a new three-year deal upgrading its relationship to premium partner status. The new contract, which runs until 2016, grants the company branding presence on video boards, camera carpets and throughout club media. Eintracht finished sixth in the 1.Bundesliga last season to qualify for the UEFA Europa League, but has endured a disappointing start to the new campaign and currently sits bottom of the table after two games. Philipp JN Vogel, CEO of DFV, said:Eintracht stands for tradition, passion, and for being a big strong family. This is a property through which we can carry not only our name, but also our philosophy. Consequently, we look to continue to be part of this community and this season will accompany Eintracht for the first time in international competition.”

Meanwhile, electronics company Grundig has expanded its deal with Nurnberg to become an exclusive partner of the club through to the 2016-17 season. Grundig signed a four-year deal for the naming rights to the club’s stadium in February this year, but has opted to enhance the arrangement. The new deal, administered by the Sportfive agency, will now include various advertising opportunities including on new LED boards that have been installed in the stadium. Grundig has also been provided with a VIP box in the ground as part of the new agreement. The firm had a major presence with the club during the 1970s, and the new deal is the latest move from Grundig to further strengthen its association with Bavarian outfit.

Murat Sahin, managing director of Grundig Intermedia, said: “Our heart beats for the club, the city and the Franconian region. Here is our home, both athletically and economically. The new (LED) bands not only underline the modernity of the association, but also allow animated sequences, which in turn will clearly increase the attractiveness for advertisers.”
