Turkish Super Lig giant Galatasaray has unveiled a sponsorship deal with Indian technology company HCL’s ME Tablet brand.
The agreement follows the conclusion of Galatasaray’s deal with Nikon, and ME Tablet will replace the Japanese electronics firm’s branding space on the team’s shorts for the duration of the 2013-14 season. As part of the deal, HCL will also design a special Galatasaray version of the ME Tablet to be sold in club shops across Istanbul.
The value of the sponsorship deal has been tagged at US$1.5 million by media reports in Turkey. The agreement also includes the Galatasaray’s men’s volleyball team, which will wear armbands carrying the ME Tablet logo.
The Indian company joins other brands from the technology sector – Turk Telekom, Avea and Yandex – on the Galatasaray sponsorship roster.
