IMG-Reliance, the commercial partner of the All India Football Federation, has sealed a three-year broadcast rights deal with Ten Sports for coverage of the domestic I-League and Federation Cup competitions.

IMG-Reliance, the commercial partner of the All India Football Federation, has sealed a three-year broadcast rights deal with Ten Sports for coverage of the domestic I-League and Federation Cup competitions.

The rights cover a range of platforms, including mobile and the internet, and the deal has been struck just days before the start of the new I-League season on Saturday. The announcement has been welcomed by clubs, many of which were concerned about a lack of a deal as the start of the campaign approached. IMG-Reliance, which was created when the IMG agency and Reliance Industries formed a joint sports marketing venture, is now looking to sign up regional broadcasters for the competitions.

Ten Sports will show at least 75 I-League games on its Ten Action channel for three years through to the end of the 2014-15 season. The deal for the Federation Cup covers two seasons, starting with the 2013-14 campaign. Ten Action will show matches live and on a delayed basis.

“We are delighted to partner with IMG-Reliance to telecast I-League and Federation Cup, two of India’s premier football tournaments,” Ten Sports chief executive Atul Pande said. “Ten Sports has always supported Indian football and we continue committed to our vision of enhancing and adding value to the sport.”
