Low: Germany must improve to win World Cup 2014
The 53-year-old has questioned the young talent at his disposal and warned those who are expecting Pep Guardiola to be an instant success at Bayern Munich
Joachim Low has played down Germany's chances of triumphing at World Cup 2014 and has admitted his side need to improve before next year’s finals.
In an interview with Spiegel, the 53-year-old questioned the players currently at his disposal and suggested he has a lack of depth in defence and attack.
He said: "Have we really such a flood of talent?"
"We have a number of good midfielders who can also play in the wider positions. But for the attack and the defence we have to do a little bit of training."
Low also spoke out about Pep Guardiola and the former Barcelona coach's impending arrival in Germany, warning that it will take him time to get the Bavarians playing his favoured style of football.
“No one should be expecting Guardiola to plant his philosophy at Bayern in a short time," he added.
“Barcelona is very special, they have been around 25 years, playing with the same structures."
