A reliable source has revealed to Goal that the ex-Thika United star's passport has been rejected after it was defaced and is currently held up in Milan, Italy
Former Thika United and Harambee Stars’ midfielder Francis Kahata is stranded in Italy after his passport was defaced.
According to a source in the team, who exclusively spoke to Goal, Kahata had accidently washed his clothes with his passport inside and it was therefore, rejected while he was trying to board a plane to Nairobi.
Kahata, who turns out for FK Tirana in Albanian league, was connecting to Nairobi via Italy.
“As it is, he has to get a new passport and the Kenyan embassy is working on it in Italy. We hope this can be done quickly so that he joins the team for Sunday’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Comoros.”
Kahata is one of foreign-based players, who have been called up for the match and was yet to arrive by Thursday. Team captain Victor Wanyama (Southampton) and Macdonald Mariga (Inter Milan), joined the team in training on Thursday.
