The Toreros advance past the first round of the second-tier continental competition after running out easy winners over their Venezuelan opposition in Guayaquil

Barcelona have advanced to the second round of the Copa Sudamericana after humbling Deportivo Tachira 5-1 at home.

The Ecuadorian outfit opened the scoring with a header from Jose Perlaza 15 minutes in, and doubled their advantage through Michael Quinonez just after the half-hour mark.

Matias Oyola made it 3-0 moments before the interval after dispatching a penalty, before Holger Matamoros scored the goal of the game with a curler into the top corner.

Brayan de la Torre completed the rout in the 65th minute with Barcelona’s fifth goal, rendering a late penalty from Cesar Gonzalez nothing more than a moot point.
