Defender Jackson Saleh has rubbished rumours going round that he had ditched AFC Leopards for rivals Gor Mahia ahead of 2015 Kenyan Premier League season.
Speaking exclusively to Goal on Wednesday in presence of Ingwe official Timothy Lilumbi, Saleh said he had not joined Gor Mahia and was looking forward to helping the club perform better next season.
“I have not quit AFC Leopards’. I am still an AFC Leopards’ player and will be playing for them next season. I have never thought about leaving this great club.
“I was surprised to read in newspapers and social media that I have ditched AFC Leopards for Gor Mahia. That was fabricated information and I don’t know where it originated from.”
Lilumbi also confirmed that Saleh was still at AFC Leopards’ and is among players, who will resume training with the side in preparations for next season. “Saleh is going nowhere and by the way…as you can see I am here with him.
“People should stop making news from nothing. Saleh has binding contract with AFC Leopards and is very happy playing at the den. We are also happy to have him in our squad. Apart from six players we released on Monday, Saleh is part of us.”
