Former Gor Mahia striker refutes reports that he has agreed terms to join Tanzanian giants as bankers’ insist they will not release player till end of season
Struggling KCB are concerned about mixed signals being sent by top striker Paul Kiongera over his fate with the club.
Kiongera has been linked with a move to Tanzanian giants Simba though both the club and player have denied the reports.
KCB coach Rishadi Shedu says he is confused as to what to believe regarding the reports even as he insisted that they cannot release Kiongera at such a crucial time in the season.
“I have heard such reports and even been informed by people in Tanzania that the player travelled to the country to meet Simba officials after our game against Mathare United.
“I have talked to him but he denies it. It puts us in a tricky situation and the fact is we cannot release him now because of where we are on the log,” Shedu told Goal.
Contacted, Kiongera insisted that such reports have no truth in them. “I have not talked to Simba. I am in KCB to stay and anything else is a rumor."
