Tunisian club Jeunesse Sportif de Kairouan have approached Tusker FC for the signature of leading striker Jesse Were, Goal can exclusively reveal.
Tusker Director Charles Obiny has confirmed that the club, handled by former AFC Leopards’ coach Luc Eymael, have made contact for the availability of the striker.
“We have been approached but are not willing to release the player now. The transfer window has closed and we cannot get a replacement. We are willing to release the player at the end of the year.
“Alternatively, the club can sign and give him to us on loan for rest of the season. We are very open to discussions on this.”
Coach Eymael also confirmed chasing services of the striker. “We have contacted Tusker for Were’s services but they are reluctant to let him come sign with us. Tusker officials are playing hide and seek game because no one is willing to discuss the issue with our management.
“Were is a top class player, who can fit in well into my system of play and will be happy if we secure his services for upcoming season.”
Eymael started training Jeunesse Sportif on Tuesday after signing a one-year contract. Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise often referred to as JSK, is a club from Kairouan in Tunisia. Founded in 1942, the team plays in green and white colours. Their ground is Stade Ali Zouaoui, which has a capacity of 15, 000.
