Thika Utd chairman Ellio reveals to Goal that the influential midfielder as signed a six month deal with top side FK Tirana but team will not be paid for move
Kenya Premier League side Thika United have revealed that they will not earn anything just yet following the move of their influential midfielder Francis Kahata to Albania.
Club chairman Lolli Ellio told Goal on Tuesday that they are not entitled to any payment since the player, who has joined FK Tirana on an initial six month deal, is under-23 years of age.
“We only expect to get paid development fee if the player is sold to another club by Tirana. We wish him the best of luck as this is his real chance to show what he is truly made of.”
Ellio said they are not worried about losing the player terming his move as good for Kenyan football. He also confirmed that midfielder Moses ‘Dube’ Odhiambo, who signed a six month deal with the club last week, has left to attend trials in South Africa.
