AFC Leopards’ have signed Sofapaka defence kingpin James Situma and are closing in on other experienced players as they chase a better season in 2014.
Situma comes on board a few days after the club completed the signing of yet another ex-Sofapaka midfielder Musa Mudde. Mudde is a former Tanzanian giant Simba player but has not played for the last six months after his contract ended.
According to Ingwe acting Chief Executive Officer Richard Ekhalie, they are also narrowing in on Tusker’s towering defender Joseph Shikokoti and Sony Sugar goalkeeper Wycliffe Kasaya.
“We are almost completing our signings and are glad that most of them have been completed with the remainder on the verge of being confirmed. We want to build a strong team that will fight for trophies next season,” Ekhalie told Goal.
Ekhalie however, declined to state who they will drop insisting that they are still working on the list. “The players to be let go will only be known next week after the coach comes back from national team duty.”
Veteran striker Mike Baraza and Ugandan Dan Wagaluka are among players said to have been released from the den.
