Gor Mahia could sign the FK Ruzembok winger and former Harambee Stars midfielder, who has been struggling with injury that has kept him out for months
Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia could land the signature of former Harambee Stars midfielder Patrick Oboya.
The FK Ruzembok winger has been struggling with an injury that has kept him out of action for several months and his return to fitness has seen him commence training with Gor Mahia at the City Stadium.
Gor Mahia assistant coach John ‘Bobby’ Ogolla has revealed to Goal that the player started training with the team on Thursday and ‘we are weighing options of signing him.’
Should he sign, Oboya will only be with K'Ogalo for six months as he seeks a return to Europe.
“Oboya is currently training with us, but we cannot confirm whether we will go for his services because we must assess his fitness because no one can doubt his abilities.
“We will keep monitoring him and by the time we finish our transfer business we will have made the decision,” added Ogolla.
It is not immediately clear whether he will return to his base in Slovakia after signing a three year deal in January last year, a deal that would keep him in the country until 2015, or if he will opt to join a club in Vietnam, where many teams have been interested in his services.
