Batoto ba Mungu head coach David Ouma reveals to Goal that the player is set to sign for Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bidvest Wits on June 20

Sofapaka defender Eugine Asike will leave the country on June 20 to join South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bidvest Wits.

Asike has previously attended trials at the club and according to Sofapaka coach David Ouma the South African side want to sign him after his impressive show.

“I can confirm that Wits have indicated a desire to sign the defender and he leaves the country on June 20. It is only while there that the exact details of how long he will sign for the club will be known.

“The two clubs have also officially started negotiations,” Ouma revealed to Goal.

In this regard, Ouma said the team is in the market looking for a defender to replace Asike.

“He is a very experienced player and we will miss him a lot but we need to get an able replacement before the transfer window closes.

“We are looking at a few players and hopefully by Friday we will have settled on our targets,” he added.
