Former Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker forward Dennis Mukhaisi has joined Division one side Rangers.
Mukhaisi was among 13 players dropped by the Ruaraka-based outfit at the end of last season. Mukhaisi confirmed having signed a deal with the relegate side after spurning offers from at least four KPL sides.
“There was interest from Sony, Chemelil, Homeboyz and Karuturi Sports but I have settled on Rangers because of the good offer they have put on the table. They have given me permanent employment and for me this is what made all the difference,," Mukhaisi told Goal.com.
Rangers are sponsored by Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK). Mukhaisi said he hopes to get back to the KPL next season with Rangers and believes they have what it takes to qualify.
"The coach has signed some really good players ahead of the new season. We have what it takes to make it to KPL next season so I will just be patient and give my best. Iam hoping to do well and hopefully get a recall to the national team Harambee Stars."
Mukhaisi won the league with Tusker in 2011 and 2012. He has previously turned out for AFC Leopards. Elsewhere, AFC Leopards striker Jimmy Bagaye has hinted that he may be done with the Kenya league.
Bagaye said he is pursuing options out of the country and does not wish to continue featuring in the local league despite recent reports linking him with his former club Nairobi City Stars.
“I have received many offers from several KPL clubs including City Stars but I am not interested in any of them. My agent is pursuing several deals outside the country and once they are ready,I will be flying out,” said Bagaye.
Bagaye was among nine players sacked by Leopards at the end of last season. He signed for the club from City Stars.
