Bandari capture Hamisi ‘Okocha’ Mwinyi from Muhoroni ahead of league kick-off

Bandari capture Hamisi ‘Okocha’ Mwinyi from Muhoroni ahead of league kick-off

Mwinyi, known for his dazzling runs and great dribbling skills, is re-uniting with former Harambee Stars coach Twahir Muhiddin, at the promoted side

After spending one year at Alfred Imonje’s Muhoroni Youth, Hamisi ‘Okocha’ Mwinyi has gone ‘back home’ by signing for newly promoted Bandari FC.

The midfield maestro, formerly of Division Two side Gunners FC, was impressive for Muhoroni Youth last season helping them evade relegation in the hotly contested Kenyan Premier League.

Mwinyi, known for his dazzling runs and great dribbling skills, is re-uniting with former Harambee Stars Coach Twahir Muhiddin, who nurtured his talent from South Coast, five years ago.

Muhidin, who is standing in for Rishedi Shedu, has said that he is pleased with the latest prospect and hopes that the acquisition of one of the greatest talents from the modern coast will steer the Port men to a better finish in the league after being relegated two seasons ago.

“He has great artistry, skill and technique. I hope that he helps us win matches just as he did against big sides last year,” Muhiddin told Goal.com.

Having been brought up in Mombasa, Mwinyi made his first local debut in 2008 with Mariakani-based Mabati FC, moved to Marben FC in 2009 and continued to showcase his exceptional talent at Gunners FC in 2010 before cultivating his status at Muhoroni Youth in 2012.

Bandari open their league campaign against Sony Sugar at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club on February 16.
