The shot-stopper's agent revealed earlier this week that he does not want to extend his current contract, which runs until the summer of 2014, but the Blaugrana are not too worried about filling the void he leaves.
"There's no need to give this too much attention. We have sufficient resources to find a good replacement," the 58-year-old told TV3.
"We now have a job on our hands and our task is to find a new goalkeeper. I have the feeling that Valdes is pretty certain about his decision. He wants to leave and we have to respect his wish."
Valdes has made almost 500 appearances for Barcelona since making his official first team debut in 2002-03.
