Kenya striker Taiwo Leo Awuonda Atieno has completed a switch to English League One side Barnet FC.

The Kenyan previously played in the Football League for Walsall, Rochdale, Chester City, Darlington and Torquay United and in the USL First Division for the Puerto Rico Islanders and Rochester Rhinos.

The Brixton-born 27-year-old has won four international caps for Kenya and has been a free agent since leaving Torquay at the end of last season.

Barnet FC confirmed on their official website the capture of Atieno. “We are pleased to announce the signing of English-born Kenyan Taiwo Atieno on a free transfer. More details on the deal will be confirmed soon.”

Atieno made his debut for Kenya as a late substitute in the June 2009 qualifier against Mozambique. He then played the whole of a friendly defeat in Bahrain and was again a substitute in the second qualifier against Mozambique.

He then featured 46 minutes in the 1–0 qualifying loss to Tunisia.
