Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata says he is remaining upbeat despite being sacrificed in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano.
The 20-year-old had netted his first goal for the Blancos at the Bernabeu but, with the dismissal of Sergio Ramos in the first half, coach Jose Mourinho opted to withdraw the youngster for defender Raul Albiol on the half-hour mark.
But Morata remained philosophical following the tactical switch.
"These are things that happen and we need to accept them," he told reporters.
"There are times when this sort of thing happens, that’s life and I’m happy because the team won. It happened to Callejon recently."
The youngster also expressed his pride in having played his way into contention at Real Madrid and stressed the need for patience in his development.
He added: "I am very proud to be in this squad and play in matches like this. I am learning and I am in no hurry. I need to take it step by step."
