The prolific attacker equalled Gento's record of 182 goals with his hat-trick against Sevilla on Saturday to become the club's sixth most prolific player, and the 79-year-old is thoroughly impressed with the former Manchester United star.
"Watching Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch is a delight," Gento was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"He’s a unique player that will mark a period with all of the goals he’s scoring. I would have loved to have played with him."
Meanwhile, Pirri, who sits eighth in Madrid's list of all-time goalscorers, is equally full of praise for Ronaldo.
"He’s a fantastic player. Not only is he a born striker with both feet but for me he’s also the most complete player in the world.
"He’s powerful, fast, vertical, he jumps high for headers, he’s got a great strike and an enormous ability on the sides, he works hard, defends..."
Ronaldo has netted 24 goals in 22 La Liga appearances so far this term.
