Cuenca gets medical all-clear

The young Barcelona attacker has been out of action since May 2012, but is one step closer to his comeback after he was give the green light by the club's medical staff
Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has received some encouraging news from the treatment table as versatile attacker Isaac Cuenca has been given the green light after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

The 21-year-old picked up the knee problem toward the end of the 2011-12 campaign, and underwent a therapeutic arthroscopy on May 31, 2012.

Cuenca recently resumed training action, and Barcelona have now confirmed on their official website that the attacker has been given the medical all-clear to return to competitive play.

The Spain Under-21 international could make his comeback in the second leg of the Catalans' Copa del Rey quarter-final against Malaga on Thursday.

Cuenca is a product of the Barcelona youth academy, and made his official first team debut under Pep Guardiola in October 2011.
