Falcao limps off in Levante clash with hamstring injury
The highly-coveted striker could be facing a spell on the sidelines after having to be replaced in Atletico Madrid's La Liga clash at home against the Valencian outfit
Atletico Madrid will be sweating over the fitness of star striker Radamel Falcao, who limped out of his side's clash with Levante with a hamstring injury. The Colombian was attempting to latch onto a throw-in from inside the Rojiblancos half, but as he was approaching the opposition penalty area, he pulled up.
Levante soon scrambled the ball away, but worryingly for the capital club, the former Porto man was clutching his hamstring, in apparent discomfort.
He soon sank to the floor, and Diego Simeone promptly replaced him with Diego Costa.
Rather than sitting on the bench with the Atletico backroom staff and substitutes, Falcao disappeared into the dressing room.
In the wake of the game, Simeone confirmed that the striker would be missing for approximately 20 days, ruling him out the upcoming games against Liga matches against Betis, Athletic Bilbao and Rayo Vallecano.
The 26-year-old has led his side's charge to second place in the Liga table with 18 goals in just 17 games.
