Fellow midfielders Andres Iniesta and Xavi, as well as prolific attacker Lionel Messi, are often singled out as the Blaugrana's star players, but Pique has insisted that Busquets is a key man for the Catalans, too.
"Playing with Busquets is a great help for us centre-backs," Pique was quoted as saying on the official Barcelona website.
"Tactically, he’s 10 out of 10. He reads the game really well, both in attack and defence."
The centre-back then went on to hail his side's strength in depth.
"We can switch things around as we have plenty of players up front who can all bring something different, and that really gives us an edge. We have a great and competitive squad."
Barcelona are currently preparing for Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarter-final against Malaga.
