The promising midfielder is pleased to see the Catalans are not afraid to put their faith in him and his team-mates who have come through the club's youth academySergi Roberto has voiced his delight at Barcelona's policy of giving youth players the chance to prove their worth whenever possible.
The 20-year-old midfielder featured for the full 90 minutes in the Blaugrana's goal-less Champions League draw against Benfica on Wednesday, and he has made it clear that playing for the first team always gives him something extra.
"It’s good that so many Barca B players are getting chances because it shows things are being done right and that the first team coaches have faith in the young players," Sergi Roberto told Barca TV.
"We always go out with a special attitude when we play for the first team, that’s why we try to do our very best for the whole match."
The promising youngster also had his say on Lionel Messi's injury-scare against Benfica, and hopes the Argentine will return shortly.
"It’s not normal for him to leave the field on a stretcher, but he’s a strong player and we hope he recovers quickly," he added.
Roberto has made three official appearances for Barca this term.
