Thiago: There's not much difference between Messi, Xavi & Iniesta
The young midfielder has praised the Argentina attacker, but also hailed the influence of the Spain's duo, while stressing that Real Madrid remain a team to be reckoned with
Thiago has insisted that there is more to Barcelona than just Lionel Messi as he feels players such as Andres Iniesta and Xavi are at nearly the same level. The Argentina international has already netted 26 goals in 20 official appearances for the Blaugrana this term, but Thiago has stressed that Iniesta and Xavi are equally important for the Catalan powerhouse.
"Leo Messi is the best in the world, but there are others who are not so bad either. One scores the goals and others give the final pass. I don’t see much difference between Andres, Leo and Xavi," Thiago was quoted as saying on the Barcelona website.
The young midfielder then looked ahead to this weekend's derby between Real Madrid and Atletico, and added that the Blancos should never be written off.
He added:"Any result between Real Madrid and Atletico can benefit us as long as we win our own match.
"It's too soon to write off Madrid. They’re always dangerous opponents."
Barcelona are currently preparing for the Liga match at home against Athletic Bilbao.
