Simeone delight at Atletico Madrid form
The Argentine coach reveals his delight in the way his team are currently playing, and labelled himself very satisfied with their strong performance against Sevilla on Sunday
Diego Simeone is thrilled with Atletico Madrid's form in La Liga this season.Los Rojiblancos have won 13 of their 15 league games this campaign and are just three points behind the leaders Barcelona.
The shift that the players put in to beat Sevilla 4-0 on Sunday is something that especially pleases the coach.
"We played a good game," he told reporters.
"The goal was to win the match but the strong performance that we displayed were very nice to see. Sevilla had no opportunities [to score].
"We have played 13 games, winning 11 and with only one defeat. This is a huge credit to all the players. I am very satisfied with what they are doing at the moment and I hope they can continue to compete.''
However, the 42-year old was not as happy to discuss the upcoming Liga clash with fierce rivals Real Madrid on Saturday as they are scheduled to play Real Jean in the Copa del Rey during the week.
"It would be disrespectful to Jean for us to think beyond the game against them," Simeone said.
"We take each game as they come and when this game is over we will concentrate on derby, and then we can talk about them."
