The Italy international has nothing but praise for the former Manchester City striker, claiming that the Argentine leads from the front with his "never-say-die spirit"
The Argentine attacker was involved in both of the Serie A champions' goals as they cruised to victory in the first leg of their round-of-32 tie with the Turkish outfit, and Marchisio was quick to stress that Tevez is an example to follow for his team-mates.
"Carlos didn’t let up even for a second and he won the ball back to lay [the second goal] on a plate for Paul Pogba," Marchisio was quoted as saying on the official Juventus website.
"As well as being a very talented player, he’s important to the team because he leads from the front with his constant never-say-die spirit."
Marchisio then went on to admit that Juventus struggled toward the end of the game in Turin but that he was delighted with the resilience shown by Antonio Conte's men.
"At one point we were hoping the final whistle would blow as quick as possible because it was becoming a bit nervy," the Italy international confessed.
"But instead we went on to score the second goal in those five minutes of added time. It’s given us a bit more breathing space for the away leg."
The return is scheduled to take place on February 27.
