Juventus are feeling Chiellini's absence, says Caceres
The Uruguay international has underlined the importance of the experienced defender, and is eagerly anticipating the games against Fiorentina and Celtic
Martin Caceres believes that Juventus are feeling the absence of Giorgio Chiellini. The Italy international has been out of action since December 2012 due to injury, and Caceres feels that the Bianconeri's struggles this year are partially down to the defender's absence.
"Results wise, we didn’t have a brilliant January, but it’s now behind us. It was inevitable that we would feel the loss of a player like Chiellini," Caceres told Sportmediaset.
"But we are all great players here and we will do everything to compensate for his absence. We know that everyone’s contribution is required."
Caceres also took the time to discuss the upcoming matches against Fiorentina and Celtic, and stressed that a crucial week awaits the Bianconeri.
"We’re conscious of the fundamental week that lies ahead. The Champions League is a fascinating competition, Celtic are a great side and we’re playing away from home," he added.
"But for now we’re purely focused on the Fiorentina game. Regardless of the opposition, we always take to the field to do our best and win."
Juve host Fiorentina on Saturday at Juventus Stadium.
