The Uruguay international, who has netted 13 times in 15 Serie A appearances for the Partenopei so far this term, revealed that the fans' affection and support is what pushes him to the limit of his capabilities.
"The other day the president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] called me to say congratulations – this gesture gave me peace of mind and at the same time the right boost to continue playing here," Cavani told Diario Cambio Digital.
"I cannot wait to play another season with Napoli. I am grateful to the city and to the team. It is important to feel the affection of the fans and it drives me to give my best.
"We are a team in development, even though we are always near the top. The squad is a fierce one that never gives up. It is not easy to be where we are in Serie A and the Europa League."
Napoli currently sit fifth in Serie A and are set to resume action on January 6, when they meet Roma on home soil.
