Deschamps: France must take positives from Germany loss
The former Olympique de Marseille coach feels the Bleus put in an encouraging performance, and believes that they were unfortunate to lose the match
Didier Deschamps has insisted that he saw plenty of positives in France's 2-1 friendly loss against Germany on Wednesday.Mathieu Valbuena gave les Bleus the lead shortly before the half-time whistle, but Thomas Muller and Sami Khedira both found the net after the break to help Germany emerge victorious.
"We did plenty of good things, especially going forward. We also made mistakes, though, for example when we lost the ball for their first goal," Deschamps said at a press conference.
"We kept on pushing for a better result right until the end, but things didn't go our way. We should not just discard this game, though.
"We gave our utmost and looked good for large parts of the match. We were unfortunate to lose."
France's next match is at home against Georgia on March 22.
