The Southampton midfielder is confident Harambee Stars will make it through to the next round of qualifier where either Lesotho or Liberia awaits
Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama says the team is grateful for Sunday's 1-0 win over Comoros at Nyayo Stadium.
The Southampton midfielder said they are determined to build on that narrow win to advance to the next round of the qualifiers.
"We are grateful for the one goal. In football what is important is to be able to score. Our focus now is to build on this victory and also hope that the federation will organize more friendly matches to help us build a competitive side,” Wanyama told Goal.
Wanyama is confident Stars' will make it through to the next round of qualifiers where either Lesotho or Liberia awaits. "The players are determined to work hard away. We know that our opponents will open up their game and not defend as they did on Sunday. This will create more chances for us to score goals.”
Kenya won the first leg fixture 1-0 courtesy of a thunderous goal from Johanna Omollo and will meet Comoros in the return fixture after a fortnight.
