AFC Leopards’ have revealed to Goal that they will now take disciplinary action against the unsettled midfielder after he went missing before contest
Troubled AFC Leopards midfielder Timonah Wanyonyi made a disappearing act hours before Sunday' derby at Nyayo Stadium further worsening relationship between himself and GOtv champions.
Wanyonyi had trained with the team the whole week and was even named in the bench for the derby but he failed to turn up in camp on the eve of the match forcing coach Pitier De Jongh to make amends.
According to AFC Leopards Organising Secretary Timothy Lilumbi, who spoke to Goal, they are disappointed by Wanyonyi' behaviour and are considering disciplinary action against him.
"He was in the plan to play this game and would have come on for Noah Wafula according to the coach. He just vanished after making the last 18 and we don't know where he is. This is unacceptable behaviour and sooner or later we may be forced to take action against him.”
Wanyonyi has been disgruntled since complaining that AFC Leopards had issued him with a bounced cheque as part of his Sh500,000 transfer fees. He only resumed training with the club last week.
