Kenya Premier League side Nairobi City Stars are in talks with the county government which has expressed interest to take over the club.
City Stars is the only Kenyan Premier League club without a shirt sponsor and have been struggling for many years with paying their players. The new deal if it goes through will be a major boost for the Kawangware-based club.
Sources involved in the talks have intimated to Goal that Nairobi County governor Evans Kidero and City Stars officials will finalize the deal this week before making a formal announcement on the same.
“The talks have been on-going for a long time and both parties have agreed on some common ground. There should be a deal before the end of the week,” said our source. City Stars officials were not willing to comment on the new development.
