Coach Bobby Williamson insists he should not have been forced to play Saturday's GOtv shield match against GFE 105 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu
Gor Mahia coach Bobby Williamson insists he should not have been forced to play Saturday's GOtv shield match against GFE 105 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
A disappointed Williamson said the match should have been cancelled as he did not have more than three first team players.
"The rules are very clear that if a team does not have more than three of their first team players then they can postpone a match. It happened to us but we were not given that opportunity. We were still forces to play and this is rather disappointing,” Williamson told Goal.
He added: "The fans were fantastic and gave us all the support but it is disappointing they had to go away without a win."
K’Ogalo exited the knock out competition on penalty shot out after both teams had tied 1-1 on normal time. Gor Mahia reached the final of the last competition and lost 1-0 to rivals AFC Leopards' at Nyayo Stadium.
