Sofapaka chairman Elly Kalekwa has revealed they could not hold onto veteran goalkeeper Duncun Ochieng after he was given a better offer by Tusker.
Speaking on the player’s departure Kalekwa said the former goalkeeper has been offered permanent employment by the brewers.
“We let him go on Tuesday because he informed us the brewers have offered him employment incase he is not able to continue with his career following the injury he suffered three months ago,” Kalekwa told Goal.
Ochieng is yet to fully recover after breaking his hand when Sofapaka played AFC Leopards three months ago.
He was one of the surprise signings by Tusker in the just concluded transfer window. The brewers paid just Sh30,000 to acquire their target as his contract at Sofapaka was about to expire.
